Research for Wireless Mobile Power Options

I sent an email regarding the Li-Ion MaxPower 60 Powerpack and hopefully they will reply soon.
NOPE WON'T WORK - Sorry, The pack is preprogrammed to only put out 20 or 16 VDC. 5-6 Volts is not possible. I suggest purchasing an inexpensive 6 VDC lead acid gel cel battery to accomplish your needs.- Thanks, T. Neville

Found some more informaton on solar power at sierra solar

I have also contacted Solardyne.com to see if they have a device that will work with 5V, 2A, 12W.

Alegna might have a power pack that will work.

power planet has a number of battery chargers to offer - one of which may work. The CD charger has 4 volts and 2 amps.. it is a voltage short of what we need, but it may work. Or the notebook battery could work if the charge and amprage were distributed through two devices. I am not familiar with how to do this - but I could probably be done.

The iSun may be a possibility although it only runs at 700mA and we need 2000mA or 2 amps.

BATTERY RESPONSE:

4x NiCad cells will give you a steady 4.8V, and will have no difficulty with the current drain of 2A. They are fairly commonly available as 4Ah cells (usually described as 4000mAh) in a standard D-cell type package, which would run for 2 hours - so you'd need 8 for 4 hours, either all made up into one pack or split into 2 separate 4-cell packs, which many people think is the better way of doing it, because then you know when one pack runs down, you've got the same amount of time left on the other pack ... Total weight would be about 3 pounds, I'd guess.

You can get bigger cells - 4400mAh, right up to 7000mAh.
NiMH cells would do as well, and be smaller and lighter, but they are not quite so robust especially with a 2A drain and it sounds to me as though NiCad would be better for you.

Wireless and Emotional Connections

How can wirless facilitate or enhance emotional connection?
Can it? If so how? What is needed? What is missing? Where is the activity?

As technology goes I like the idea of lazer tag...it's active, involves others and increases our awarness of our surroundings.

For ideas for thesis: Love Tagging "sounds exciting huh?" The idea is that multiple people wear differnt devices and you have to find another person with your same radio frequency...when you do you make a connection.. How can I bring in ideas of fantasy, fun and play? Can I prevent this child like play from becoming "adult?" do I want it to?

I find the best part of meeting someone knew is the unkown and the ideas of discovery when you learn you have things in common. In my opinion it is one of the best feelings in the world and I would stay in that constant state of discovery everyday if I could. Can I? Can technology add this sense of connection and discovery to our lives? How can I test this theory and idea?

What are the negative effects of this state of discovery?____________

Things I love and would like to incorporate into my thesis:
1. TRAVEL
2. STYLE/CLOTHES
3. SHOPPING FUN AT BUYING (fun at finding something new and different)
4. SHARING
5. ?????
